Spring is in full swing and while Springtime parties can be so much fun, but they can also be a little bit tricky.  The weather here in Texas can change in an instant, and your beautiful garden party can be ruined, so it’s always a good idea to have a back up plan.

Today I’m going to show you how making a few simple changes can help you create an amazing desserts party indoors or outdoors!

A little background- my daughter was having her dance team over for a sweet desserts party at our house.  The weather had a 50 percent chance of rain, so I decided to prepare for both just to be safe.

The Outdoor Version

For the outdoor version I decided to set it up in my backyard, using our greenery wall as the backdrop, then I added a cute sign that says ‘desserts’, from Studio Noel.  This party was all about desserts, after all!

Setting up your party outdoors can be super easy. Use greenery as your backdrop and simply add a cute sign with script letters and you have the best spot for the dessert table. See how to finish setting up your dessert party outdoors on Mint Event D…

Her dance team is called Carolina’s Classics, so I wanted this table to have a very vintage vibe.

I used the color scheme of pastel blues and pinks, along with shabby chic furniture and stands.  Then I added some gorgeous florals too.

I used a small white desk as my party table this time.  It has chipped paint, and was perfect for this vintage set up.  I also used a blue overturned drawer as a stand, I always like to use things in new and unexpected ways.

Love the idea of using a drawer as a cake stand at parties! So smart! From Mint Event Design www.minteventdesign.com

Our focus was on sweet treats, and we had some really delicious desserts this time!   Sweet Carousel Cakes here in Austin, created these beautiful sugar cookies in our party colors and gave them all a floral theme.  We also served pink and blue macarons, cake pops, and pink jelly beans.

The Inside Version

Now let’s move inside- My indoor party used a farmhouse style blue cabinet as a table. This table sits right there at this place, so it was just easy to remove my daily decor and change it to a dessert table.

I used a gold hoop with attached florals to create my backdrop.  I added more florals this time, because it’s always nice to bring a little of the outdoors in.

We kept the indoor table small, since it was in my dining room.

I like a small party area, it’s a reminder that no party is too small.   Every celebration no matter how big or small is worth creating something beautiful.
